Blessings for the Festival of Purim
Purim is the Jewish festival where the children dress-up and the adults get drunk (or vice-versa?) The story took place in ancient Persia now Iran where an ancient enemy of the Jews once again tried and failed to destroy us. It is hardly surprising that Jewish and non-Jewish commentators draw the parallel with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Muftis of today and Hamin the Evil of 4th Century Persia.
This lead to the classic Jewish joke, suitable for every holiday (almost)
Jewish Holidays – They tried to kill us. We survived. Lets eat!
