Fantasy Hot XX Party
Orly Levi-Abekasis jumped from what by Israeli standards is the far-Right to the Left of the political spectrum. She joined the Labor Party list for the upcoming elections.
This set me thinking. She could have done better than joining a list in grave danger of not gaining enough votes to pass the entrance percentage. What she and Israeli politics ‘needs’ is a hot fem/female/feminine/feminist party.
Something tells me that I am not the only Israeli whose response to the question, Who do you want to win in the upcoming elections? is None of them.
Being a creative Machiavellian marketing type I realise shaking up these elections requires a party which for no apparent logical reason will capture the imagination of the despondent Israeli voter.
There is precedent. In 2006 the Gil Pensioners party came from nowhere and won seven seats in the 17th Knesset.
Orly Levi-Abekasis, is the daughter of former Likud stalwart David Levy, former member of Knesset for Yisrael Beitanu and a former fashion model. Her Gesher list failed to enter the Knesset last election.
She is not the only hotty who didn’t quite do enough for a Knesset seat. Ayelet Shaked was allegedly ‘poised to be Israel’s most successful female Israeli politician since Golda Meir’.
Fortunately for her (and her husband) she doesn’t look like Golda. Just check out her
perfume Fascism advert at the end of this post to confirm that she has the goods.
Yet unfortunately for her she was partnered with Naftali Bennett, a special forces officer and hi-tech multi-millionaire with the sex appeal of a turnip in a kippah. She was second on the New Right party list that failed to reenter the Knesset.
Now if only Orly and Ayelet had seen the joint possibilities, last election.
Political possibilities. What did you think I meant? Get your minds out of the gutter.
It’s not too late to enter a political party list consisting entirely of physically attractive (entirely subjective, I grant you) women. We could limit the top ten to those who are already experienced Knesset members or simply spent any amount of time warming a Knesset seat.
Loyalty and ideology clearly would not be factors. Has anybody seen either of those qualities in the Blue and White party?
No need for primaries. The prospective XX list candidates can ‘chic fight’ for position.
Except that she never held a Knesset seat I would love to include Bar Rafaeli, Sports Illustrated model on the list. If anyone truly needed Israel’s excessive parliamentary immunity it would be Bar.
This post is designed to be satirical but there’s the rub. In today’s political climate such a list could do very well.
