Jacob’s Ladder Festival closes shop

The end of a musical era

Five Minutes for Israel is sad to hear that the Jacob’s Ladder Folk Festival, a feature of the ‘Anglo’ musical scene in Israel for more than a quarticentenniary (I had to look that up) is heading for its last festival in December. If we are blessed there will be an encore next December.

And then there will be (relative) silence.

I have been fortunate to be associated with the festival for several years as an official photographer. Davka† this year I can’t attend 🙁 because my son is getting married 🙂 .

Here are a handful of photographs I’ve thrown together from the thousands taken over the years.

† ‘Davka’ is a word most Jews understand without necessarily being able to define it. I am using it in the sense ‘just to be annoying’. Read more: Davka.
