Yes, you read that correctly. I’m asking you to go to the BBC’s Complaint form and send praise.
The background to this odd request is a weak joke on the BBC’s HIGNIFY programme about suicide bombers making the point (as I understand it) that (most?) suicide bombers are Muslim.
The Independent described the Dostoevsky metro station… as the Mecca for suicides.
Not to be confused with the Mecca of suicide bombers – which is Mecca.
Campaign group The Muslim Public Affairs Committee said: ‘By making such a comment she is giving the message that the holiest site in Islam is the centre of all terrorism and that Islam is inherently linked with violence. No Islamaphobe could have expressed it better.†
If you have ever sent a complaint through the BBC system and had the incentive to follow it through you have propably received a letter with the boilerplate response I think we got it just about right. Without doubt, the BBC which somehow manages to avoid mentioning the words Muslim or Islam in negative stories even when religion is the pivotal motivation for a crime will receive a flood of complaints about this ‘joke’. Let’s flood, swamp, inundate the BBC with praise.
If this thing goes viral let the BBC try to explain it away and deny that Islam and violence IS the story.

Action Item: Go to the BBC and praise this joke!
† I admit I stole this line from Steffen Larsen’s comment to Jihad Watch.
