The Russians are Coming … or not

Gilad ShalitM&M’s: Medvedev meets Meshaal

Russian president Medvedev meets Hamas leader Meshaal, urges release of Israeli soldier

Under the terms of the Geneva Convention, POWs must be provided safe, sanitary accommodations, as well as food, medical care, some wages, and access to mail. Nonpartisan representatives must be allowed access to POW camps for inspection.

This story is just breaking and it’s the sort of story that we should be looking out for.

The most basic right of a Prisoner of War are denied to Gilad Shalit. That is an indisputable war crime.

The Hamas  Charter says under Hamas Principles “There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors.”

With respect for his efforts towards Shalit, neither the Russians nor anyone else should be giving Hamas recognition.
