Which cola should I boycott?

We never thought there was so much BDS animosity to a sugar-loaded, fizzy drink that Five Minutes for Israel would be pointing to a Palestinian enterprise to counter it.

Zero Palestine

A sugar rush is the high one gets after consuming large amounts of sugar. Also called a “sugar high.” Sugar rushes cause twitchiness, spasms, and hyper excitability. They do not last very long, and leave a person feeling drained afterwards†. Yep, suits BDS down to a calorie.

Recently I came across this disgusting image of a girl apparently drinking blood from a bottle of Coca Cola. The message was that all moral people will boycott the evil company who is clearly responsible for the wars in Gaza (and tooth decay).

Blood-cola-BDS

A little Internet searching showed a huge amount of similar material attacking the Atlanta giant for Israel connections among other lesser crimes. The BDS movement clearly has it in its sights. Pepsi for some reason is less of a concern.

On a recent visit to the shuk in Jerusalem I drank Coca Cola Zero (must mind the waistline) and on checking the can discovered that it was bottled in Ramallah. In fact, Coke has been produced as a Palestinian product since 1998 and depending on who you reference is either the Authority’s third or fifth largest manufacturer. They also distribute in Gaza and are planning to open up a plant there. Israel approved the plant before its war with Hamas in Gaza this summer. Gaza already has a Pepsi plant.

It should be needless to say that this Palestinian employer depends on Israel for raw materials, packaging and just about everything not locally available.

Once again as they did with Soda Stream, BDS is shooting (itself) in the Palestinians’ collective feet.

Please note the heroic effort I made not to connect the words ZERO PALESTINE in your collective minds. Oops, I just did.

Buy it on ebay

For just US $3.95 plus US $8.00 Standard Int’l Shipping you can purchase a used, empty can of Palestinian Coca Cola Zero! Come to Israel and I will give you a full one. How’s that for a bargain?

The last word

For once I am letting BDS have it:

Companies such as Coca Cola and McDonald’s are not priorities for the BDS movement at this stage. We focus on companies that play a clear and direct role in sustaining Israeli violations of international law and that we can have a tangible impact upon.
